Natasha Gaskill provides the skilled hands and joyful heart of A Squad Bake Shop. A native of Bellingham, WA who has made her home in Savannah, GA for nearly two decades, Natasha adheres to her classic culinary education while imbuing all that comes from her oven with unique flavors and artistic elegance.
Under the tutelage of renowned wedding cake guru Minette Rushing, Natasha developed the fine skill of crafting sugar paste flowers, a signature feature of her sumptuous creations. She has also attended master classes with Food Network host and celebrity pastry chef Ron Ben Israel and keeps abreast of new industry developments.
Before founding A Squad Bake Shop, Natasha served as the executive pastry chef for Lulu’s Chocolate Bar—a perpetual winner for Savannah’s “Best Dessert” polls—and oversaw the inception of the restaurant’s special events department. Her cakes have been featured in Brides, The Knot,100 Layer Cake, Style Me Pretty and dozens of other national print and online publications. She was named a 2014 Tastemaker by Savannah Magazine and exhibited a three-tiered cake depicting the likeness of Flannery O’Connor in the 2014 “Southern Discomfort” art show.
A longtime supporter of and contributor to Savannah’s local food, art and environmental movements, Natasha works in a sunny kitchen overlooking a thriving garden that provides her endless inspiration.
